By 2030, Denmark, Sweden and Finland will install 12.8GW of PV system

By 2030, Denmark, Sweden and Finland will install 12.8 GW of PV system, according to a research report from Rastad Energy, a Norwegian Research Institute. North European Countries will be the renewable energy center of Europe. Onshore wind facilities will account for the bulk of the 61.5GW of new renewable capacity.

    Rystad Energy forecasts that Denmark is expected to lead the development of North European Countries.By 2030, Denmark will have increased 9GW PV System,Sweden (3GW) and Finland (0.8GW) .Sweden set a goal of generating 65% of its electricity comes from renewable energy by 2030.Finland and Denmark set targets of 51% and 55% respectively.

 

The Senior Analyst,Francesca Bjørnflaten from Rystad Energy said:”Currently 90% of its electricity(including nuclear) comes from renewable energy, and it is an important importer to provide electricity for other countries in Europe.This trend will be further strengthened with increased renewable energy investment and power generation in the region in terms of geography, technology and management experience."

 

The Nordic region is also expected to see a significant increase in the number of green hydrogen projects. Denmark,Sweden and Finland have announced that they plan to install nearly 40 separate hydrogen energy projects,and put into operation by 2030 or earlier.
